B 250 Lesson 4 Weekly Reflection

This week, I set up the blog for my class at www.diaryofalibrarystudent.com. It’s going to be monetized via AdSense. I’ve installed a security plugin and looked at AdSense Plugins, though I’m sure I could do the latter myself, so long as WordPress didn’t attempt to “clean up” the code. I’ve also found relevant book-related plugins like reading lists. Those look interesting. I even found one that lets you turn a WordPress site into a real library catalog!

Today I was told I should stay away from WordPress if I want to be taken seriously as a web designer. I wonder if that applies if I write my own theme? I’m not quite satisfied with the ones I’ve found so far.
